These guys are the best! It’s hard to find a good shop for 90’s vehicles. They’ve managed to find the all gremlins that multiple shops could never figure out. Got both my old truck and van running and feeling like new again. Will be using them for all our needs while we live in the area

I conferred with Chris about several major issues with my 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee and we made a game plan for repairs. There were several repair options and Chris laid them out in a way that made sense. I had shopped around for repair pricing previously and all of Legacy’s pricing was very fair. One of my Jeep’s issues became much worse by the time I showed up, and Chris worked with me on a plan B, even to his own financial loss, as I ended up selling the vehicle instead of making the costly repairs. Along the way, I felt like Chris and his team were looking out for me as I navigated a difficult and potentially very expensive situation, giving me sound and honest advice throughout the process. Thank you Chris and the Legacy Automotive team!

I had a really good experience with Legacy Automotive during a difficult repair. They're busy, so plan on making an appointment ahead of time. There's a reason they're busy. We found them by chance and I wish I'd known about them sooner. Everyone we dealt with was thorough and honest. They showed us the actual error codes, explained what each repair path would involve, and helped us weigh the cost against what the car is worth and what this model is known for. Nobody pushed us toward the expensive option. We ended up choosing the smaller repair to get back on the road, knowing the bigger problem could still take the car out before long. They were upfront about that from the start. They also told us straight that some repairs weren't worth doing because we wouldn't be happy with the result. Prices were fair, and the honesty made me trust they were looking out for us and not the invoice. If you want a shop that explains things and gives you a straight answer, go here.

Absolutely incredible experience at Legacy. They diagnosed and fixed a nagging problem (an unexplained clunking noise) with our Subaru Outback quickly and inexpensively. Our experience with Legacy was far superior to our experience with the Subaru dealer. Legacy is fantastic and we could not be more pleased. 10/10. Highly recommend.

I truly cannot say enough good things about my experience with the team at Legacy! Their communication is top notch, and they went above and beyond to help me (as someone who doesn’t know cars) understand what exactly was happening with my car. This crew acts with honesty and integrity: when they thought it was in my best interest to get rid of my car instead of fixing it they advised me to do so which took money out of their pockets. They even offered to help with the process of finding new cars! 10/10 experience with a stand up team behind the company

Truthfully, I am overdue for writing this review. My husband and I have been using Legacy for MANY years now and through multiple vehicles, and it's hard to know where to begin as there are countless reasons why this is our most trusted shop and is pretty much the only place we take our vehicles. Chris and team have helped us through countless routine maintenance items, repairs minor and major on both new and old cars (Ford, Hyundai, Toyota, Lexus), and they always manage to get us in for service quickly. Not only that, but they always provide services at a fair/market rate. Simply put, there is no other auto shop that I have trusted so deeply in my life and I can confidently say that our family will continue to rely on them for many, many years to come. Wow these guys are really great. Chris and Henry helped me out so so much with my 2011 jeep grand Cherokee and today I’m getting solid help and service with a tire rotation and plugging a nail in my tire. Henry took time to adjust my battery terminal and engine air filter - even topped off my coolant . Super quick to help me with my questions and super patient. AAA recommended Legacy when I had car trouble and had to be towed somewhere. The staff was friendly and competent. The service was excellent, and the total bill came in well below their estimate. The waiting area is cool (August!) and comfortable.

I used to take fleet vehicles to Legacy and after interacting with them in that capacity I immediately made them my personal mechanic as well. Rather than just mindlessly replacing a trunk lock on a super old Camery these folks did a simple repair on the existing one. Might sound trivial but you just don’t see this style of thoughtful maintenance very often these days. I have a huge amount of admiration for the way they do business

Legacy is great, I had an awesome experience. They were able to get my car in same day and did an excellent job swapping out all of my engine coils. They even approved me brining in my own parts (this means they cannot provide a warranty on them, but saved me some on the cost). I think anywhere you go in Boulder will be more expensive than you’d like, but they need to pay rent too; Legacy is going to be your best deal.

Our 2002 Toyota hadn't been driven much this year because of illness. We took it in for a checkup/oil change. We called for an appointment that morning, took the car in, and got it back at 1:00. Everything was taken care of, and it rides much smoother now.

Amazing, quick, and really kind people ! My boyfriend recommended that I take my car for an oil change here because it’s a new car for me (I’ve had it since December). I wanted to make sure my car gets a proper oil change and checked for anything I need to be aware about. They were honest and reassuring. Usually going to a mechanics as a girl is nerve wracking for me because I worry they’re going to up charge or do something to my vehicle that will make me have to come back and spend $$$. Not here though ! First time I ever left a mechanics feeling confident that my vehicle is in the right hands (: I really thought I submitted this a while ago but I didn’t 😭 adding on that this is the only place I go to for my car. Legacy is THE establishment to partner with if you value all the important attributes of a group that values the integrity of your automobile, and the safety of its users. Honesty, proficiency, knowledge, efficiency etc. I try to leave only positive reviews when I can, although I’ve had my share of bad experiences. Christian and his team diagnosed an issue with my e-brake that another “shop” in town lied to me about their inability to adjust it properly. Citing the issue as a broken part they couldn’t find or order. It was neither of those issues. Mind you, I have a very simple, manual transmission car and a good ‘ol cable activated e-brake that I rely on to park safely. It’s disturbing that there are shops in business that are either this inept, or simply don’t care about repeat business. Legacy is not that shop. They are professionals.

Chris the mechanic helped me fix my low tires, due to the extreme cold today. I came in early, and he was able to fill them right away. Also 2 of the tires, the hubcaps were put on wrong ,so he couldn't get to the valves to fill the air. So he had to fix that first. All for free. Very grateful. Can't wait to go back.

I brought in my Lexus 450h hybrid suv in because I was getting a Check Hybrid System and having difficulty finding out what was causing this. Legacy hooked up the fault decoder and saw that they couldn’t get to work on the underlying problem right away but recommended a hybrid car specialist that had more resources and didn’t charge me for their analysis.

Radiator went out. Gave me a quote prior to starting the work. Quote was fair and the installation was done in less than 24 hours! Replaced my radiator, hoses and gave a whole car inspection . Will continue to use them in the future. Update: — I call legacy on a Thursday morning, letting them know I had brake trouble. They told me to bring it on over (keep in mind I had a trip to Aspen planed and intended to leave that night) They determined the master cylinder needed to be replaced. If this particular part would have broke over the pass I would have lost complete breaking power. They completed the work in less than 4 hours, provided another quote first and didn’t add any additional expenses. They sent me on my way and my breaks feel better than ever and am so grateful for their expertise and fair pricing. Go to legacy if you want an automotive service you can trust, and to do the work right the first time!

Very professional. Very forthright. They presented a list of issues with the car and worked collaboratively with me to decide how to prioritize them, which to fix now and which could be deferred for a while. They also offered a set of tires to replace the ones I had on the car (and which needed replacing, but which I intended to do separately). The price was good and so we replaced them as well. Provided videos and photos documenting the issues so I could better understand the issues. Never felt pressured, they understood my constraints both financially and based on my driving amount. The work appears to be high quality. The issues that were fixed are gone. I’m very pleased and will continue to use their services.

Great place to get my Tesla repaired. They are great at communicating and the repairs themselves are great. I always appreciate how well they keep me informed of what is happening with a repair even if there are some sort of delays. The last time I had my car repaired here it took a while to find a replacement part due to a part shortage, but they were great about communicating with me and I knew what was going on the whole time. I only have old hondas as my projects and daily drivers and most shops i take them to dont seem to have any compassion for these oldies, Legacy automotive is the only shop in boulder that i have been to that followed through with a test drive and gave me more than enough information, as well as kept me informed through the process. I couldn’t name a shop that shows more respect than legacy!

The whole team at Legacy is amazing. They're incredibly knowledgeable, and they're honest. They won't try to sell you on "repairs" you don't need. My story: one day, my engine just stopped accelerating. I couldnt go over 40 mph. I limped my car into the dealership and they quoted me for over $30k worth of repairs.... I called Legacy and they helped me arrange a tow to their shop. It turns out I needed a new turbo and a new catalytic converter.... but what I *didn't need* was the $22,000 dollars worth of other repairs that my dealership quoted me! I won't take my car anywhere else!

I have brought my 2016 Crosstrek to many shops, and Legacy is by far the best. Case in point: they found a cracked serpentine belt (!!!) when 3 other shops said nothing was wrong. They are knowledgeable, professional, and always do a great job. I have never had to wait more than a few days to get an appointment (usually less than 2-3!), and I have never had to leave my car there overnight (because they always finish the job in a day!). Plus, the online system is amazing: I drop my car off with a complaint and Legacy notes, describes, photographs, and ranks the priority of recommendations for repairs, which I then get to approve or reject online. They also always call to discuss the online report in case I have questions (which I always do!). Further, if I deny a repair, it goes into ‘previous recommendations’ so that if/when I come back, there is a written record of what they did or wanted to do. Plus, they’re never pushy or rude; even though I don’t know that much about cars, the online system plus the feedback from the Legacy team always enable me to make informed decisions. I drive confidently knowing that Legacy has my back! Highly recommend.

Thought I heard an exhaust leak. Legacy Automotive was able to find an exhaust clamp that was loose, retighten and exhaust leak sound is gone. Also ask for an alignment and the tech made adjustments to toe. Not sure if that was the only adjustment but steering wheel feeling is now much less stressful on my hands, wrist and arms. I didn't realize how an alignment could result in less stress on my body as I drive. Once again, I'm greatful for learning about Legacy Automotive from Saturdays AM560 Drive-radio show.

I have a 12 year old Mazdaspeed 3 that was due for a suspension rebuild. Driving out the lot I immediately saw where the money went. The ride was tuned and refined and no longer loud and jumpy over rougher surfaces. Driving over a sewer grate used to feel like my car would shake apart but it just shrugs it off now. Legacy did a great job with recommendations and updates and their passion for getting vehicles in top shape is apparent to me. Highly recommended.

I have a 2014 Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk which has been to hell and back. My drive to Estes Park from Jamestown takes me on a 3-mile dirt road, onto Peak to Peak and 7 into Estes Park. This vehicle must be dependable – especially in winter up here in the Mountains! I was in dire need of new Struts and mounts. I was riding on springs and the Dirt Road had become almost impassable with my vehicle. I found Legacy Auto in Boulder. I had already purchased the parts on my own. Legacy was a chance I had to take to do the installation. It is unbelieve Jeep would make a vehicle that requires so much labor and skill to change the front Struts. One day later Legacy called and the vehicle was done – WoW. Legacy had done an incredible job in replacing all 4 struts and front mounts. All the knocking is gone and it rides better than new! Their Staff (Christian and Chris) are Great to work with!! I just can’t believe there is an Auto Shop like Legacy! You cannot go wrong with this Repair Shop. They know what they are doing and they take time to listen to you and your concerns. I just wanted to say THANKS Legacy Automotive for doing the job right, the 1st time and for your concern/recommendations on future items that may need to be addressed! Also for installing parts that I purchased on my own on the advice of another shop.

The team helped to sort out my death wobble in a big way. It was hard to pinpoint at first, but once surfaced Legacy made all the right decisions to get my Jeep JK in perfect running condition. With the upgraded dampener they installed, I can run over washboard access roads running 38 PSI and hardly feel a thing. In the past, I would have to air down. Installing a new forged track bar along with new controller arms is keeping the Jeep sturdy. I ran the Jeep over some access roads this weekend and stressed tested it an a variety of rough conditions. No wobble! I am very happy and highly recommend this crew. They're a great team and enjoy making your vehicle perform its best.

I brought my Tundra in to get an alignment done after I put on after market upper control arms due to lifting the truck. It was a difficult task that they did flawlessly and didn't over charge for the extra difficulty. I ended up purchasing new tires as well and Justin provided me with a very fair price. I would highly suggest using them for any auto repair needs.

This place knows its stuff, is reasonably priced, and cares for its customers. I wish they were closer to Brighton, but it was well worth the trip to Boulder from Brighton. They prefer to diagnose the problem first and then move from there to quote you a price c to finish the fix unless you already know the work you need done. It might seem more expensive but I paid over $400 to have brakes plus fix my charging system and they left a loose positive cable on the alternator causing me to take it back to them 2 times after and they never found their mistake. Within the 1 hour that Legacy used for diagnosing the problem they were able to find the issue and fix it. This place will now be my goto for vehicle repairs for the future.

Our Lexus broke down on the way to Boulder to drop off my son for school. Within the short few days I was in town Legacy fixed the problem (air conditioning and belt). I have a 2005 Chevy Trailblazer and it has needed a few things done the last couple years. Fuel gauge replacement, oil flush, oil change, struts, shocks, ball joint replacement, sensor replacement. All repairs have been done well and the truck is running great.

My truck is running like a dream thanks to 11 years of service from Legacy Automotive. I have been taking my 2007 Ford F150 to Legacy for over eleven years for oil changes and service. They have helped me keep this machine in top notch condition. There is not enough good I can say about this establishment and the honest, helpful, friendly people who work there. Fantastic service, I've called and they have gotten me in same day for emergency repairs. Very professional and will not try to sell you on repairs that you don't need. I went to another mechanic in town before I found Legacy and they tried to tell me that I needed expensive repairs (that I know I didn't need). Legacy was great! I had to get my car in for an alignment after I did my own suspension work. I had to change the plans a lot since the work wasn't going as planned. They were very accomodating with time. I got my car in for the alignment and 2 hours later they were done! They told me the price prior and the price afterwards was exactly what they told me it would be. Very courteous and professional. Will certainly recommend them to others and be back for other work I need a shop to do for me!

I am new to the area so when I needed service I went to the local dealer. That was a huge mistake. I was told my gas tank needed to be replaced and The straps holding the tank in were ready to give out and they said it couldn’t be fixed. I was not happy. I had read many positive reviews of Legacy Automotive so I when I picked up my car from the dealer, I drove it directly to Legacy. I didn’t have an appointment but just left it there and asked if it was a lost cause. To my delight I am still tooling around in my “ arrest me, I’m yours “ bright red 1990 BMW 535i. They tried to have my gas tank fixed but that was a no go but they found an OEM gas tank and straps. I highly recommend them.

These people are outstanding! Over a year ago, my truck kept dying on me while it was running. After taking it to two different mechanics, they could not diagnose my problem. A friend in Boulder referred me to Legacy who had all the equipment necessary to diagnose what was wrong, which was an idle air control valve that needed to be replaced. Everyone here is very nice. The costs are also pretty reasonable, and they will work with you to get you the best discount possible. Thank you for doing such an amazing job. Keep up the great work.

Originally recommended by Hoshii when I needed service ASAP, I've since had lot of work done at Legacy on my Honda Civic, including a new AC unit, radiator, front brakes and rotors, and a ball joint. When the new AC unit turned out to be defective (a very rare occurrence), they replaced it the next day free of charge under the NAPA warranty. The prices are *extremely* reasonable, I saved hundreds if not a couple thousand dollars over the dealer's service department. Expert mechanics, no nonsense, great prices. A local gem!
